Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 June 2025

Welcome to SeeSubs (“we,” “our,” “us”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit https://seesubs.com or use any of our services (together, the “Service”).

If you have any questions, email privacy@seesubs.com.

1. Who we are

SeeSubs is a free, software-as-a-service (SaaS) tool that lets users track the online subscriptions they pay for and receive reports about them.
Our company is incorporated and hosted in the United States.

2. What data we collect

• Password (hashed—never stored in plain text)
Provided by you on sign-up
Subscription dataNames of services you are subscribed to and any amounts you enterProvided by you while using the app
Usage analyticsIP address, device/browser info, pages visited, time spentCollected automatically via PostHog and Google Analytics

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (e.g., health, race, biometric data) or data about children under 13.

3. Why we process your data and our legal bases

PurposeLegal basis under GDPR (if you are in the EEA/UK)
Provide, maintain, and improve the core Service (e.g., save your subscription list, show reports, let you log in)Contract – processing is necessary to perform the service you ask for
Diagnose errors, understand how people use the product, and guide product decisionsLegitimate interest – we have a business interest in running and improving SeeSubs; analytics has minimal privacy impact and you may opt out (see §6)

Where local law requires consent for analytics cookies (e.g., some EU countries), your continued use of the site after seeing our banner-free notice bar constitutes that consent. You can withdraw consent at any time—see §6.

4. Cookies & similar tech

PostHog® and Google Analytics set first-party cookies that last up to two years for aggregated usage stats.
You may block or delete these cookies using your browser settings without losing core functionality.

5. Third-party processors

ProcessorPurposeSafeguards
SupabaseHosting, database, authenticationPasswords hashed with bcrypt; data encrypted at rest
PostHogProduct analyticsEU-standard contractual clauses for transfers to the US
Google AnalyticsWeb analyticsEU-standard contractual clauses; IP addresses truncated in GA4

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We disclose it only to the processors above or if legally required (e.g., court order).

6. Your choices

  • Opt-out of analytics – Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; doing so removes PostHog/GA tracking.
  • Account deletion – Delete your SeeSubs account any time in the app UI or by emailing us. This permanently erases all personal and subscription data we hold for you within 30 days.

7. Data retention

We keep personal data only while your account exists. Back-ups containing deleted records are purged within 30 days.

8. Security

  • All traffic is forced over HTTPS.
  • Passwords are salted & hashed with bcrypt via Supabase Auth.
  • Infrastructure access is limited to authorized engineers using 2-factor authentication.
  • Databases are encrypted at rest and in transit.

Despite these measures, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

Because we—and some processors—are in the United States, your data may be transferred outside your country. Where GDPR applies, we rely on standard contractual clauses and similar safeguards to protect EU/UK personal data.

10. Your rights (EEA/UK residents)

You may, at no cost:

  1. Access the personal data we hold about you
  2. Correct inaccurate data
  3. Erase data (“right to be forgotten”)
  4. Restrict or object to processing
  5. Port data to another service
  6. Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority

Email privacy@seesubs.com to exercise any of these rights.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will always show the latest version. Continued use of SeeSubs after a change means you accept the revised policy.
